Okay, so I'm home from the Florida dog shows and the Eukanuba Championship. Not much different than a regular dog show, but not as tight or restricted as Westminster. What a whirlwind week that was!! Being only 18 months old we didn't expect too much to happen in Florida. I mean come on...how am I going to compete with dogs that have fully matured? If anything, this was a chance for me to see my Momma's and meet my Grand Parents who live in Florida (secret plan). We had a very nice two bedroom suite with a living room which gave Meg and I plenty or room to chase each other! We had our battles and then I needed to sleep! Being at a dog show can wear you out! I felt cooped up until Saturday. I showed and then made my exit. My handler, Lori Mowery won breed with a Welsh Springer Sp. and went BOS with my girl Scarlette! Watch for her on TV! Since I was done showing, Dad figured it was time for me to have fun! We had our picture taken in front of the Eukanuba dog at the convention center and then entered in the Dock Dog event. I wasn't to keen on jumping, but did swim in the pool and just be a dog :) All in all, for my last show stuff for a while I had a blast! Just wish I could have gone to doggie beach in Ft. Myers!
My name is Josh, also known as Ch. Heywire's Don't Look Now, JH, NA I. I am a German Wirehaired Pointer, growing up in Southern New England. Follow me on my journey through life. We'll talk about the old, new and future. I'm a quail, duck and pheseant hunting fool that just happens to be a show dog too!

Josh here! So today I finished a wknd of showing in New England. Had a blast, but didn't win crap in group! One of the problems for the dog exhibitor in this region is something known as the dog show mafia! Well. that's what my Mom calls it. We are fairly close to NYC, so we probably have the greatest concentration of top dogs, and handlers in the country. That can make a group placement very difficult! I showed good today and the judge even smacked my butt and said good boy. Did I place or make the cut???? NOOOOO! I can't wait to come back in a year or two to throw it back at them :)
So did you her the story of the 20 month old pup being invited to the AKC/Eukanuba National dog show??? Me either! Just kidding! As I type this on my dogpad, I'm at my handlers house in Connecticut. Mom and Dad abandoned me after the dog show today, and I was wondering what was going on? It seems I'm travel'n south of the Mason-Dixon line, for a week of shows in Orlando.
So stay tuned for tales of a dog on the road, his winter vacation, and battles with the evil rock shrimp!

The Future
So as I'm writing this, it appears my future is being talked about. I just found "MY" future today as a Jib Jab video producer, but apparently Mom and Dad weren't impressed! From the sounds of it, I'm going on a trip in December, get to come home for a few weeks, and then basic training! I thought I was going into the Army, but maybe I over reacted! I'm going to get to spend some time in the south learning how to run better and work birds. I'm all for that! What dog wouldn't want to go look for birds? Stay tuned for updates and new videos from Executive Producer "JJ" Here's a sample of my work so far. Signing of "JJ"

Facebook, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
I'm so stink'in sad I could bite someone! Facebook can be good for friends to keep in contact, but it can also be bad when they share something that should have been stopped in it's tracks! I mean come on! Now I have this image stuck in my head! You can tell the story, but without pictures. I have friends from all over the world that post daily and I enjoy them all! Today was a different story. I came in after my run to see pictures of a wirehair, that I shouldn't have seen. Today, I removed two people from my friends list for sharing this picture. Use a bit of common sense when posting or sharing something, you never know how it will affect someone! So here's a picture of a puppy to cheer you up :) Joshie signing off!

Fall in New England
Looks like it's going to be a perfect day!! Sunshine and 60, time for a dip in the river! At least the first part of the day will be fun. Mom says we have to rotate more coat later today. Aww man!, maybe I can break the quail free and Mom will concentrate on catching them instead!
.....And A BIG congrats to Ch. Sure Shot's Sonora Gone Heywire. Yesterday she finished her Dual Championship by winning a 4 point major. Here's a picture of her from nationals.
