I just thought you all would like to know that I'm still alive!  I'll try to keep this updated more often!  Right now I'm recovering from surgery.  Nothing bad, just had an old injury that needed fix'n!

Howdy friends!  Just thought I'd let you know that everything is going great at training camp.  I'm doing good and eating a bunch!  Man!, this bird work is hard work!  It seems I may have a little problem with chasing birds.  I used to point them and hold, but chasing them is soooo much more fun!  Stay tuned for updates.

Training Daze

Well, the time has finally come for me to grow up a bit and learn more about birds.  On Thursday, we woke up and I thought it would just be another day at home.  Boy was I wrong!  After breakfast we went on a quick run and I noticed Mom loading up my travel kennel.  She went into the house, so I jumped into my kennel ready to go!  Had I known what my day was about to become, I probably wouldn't have jumped in!  Next thing I know we are at the airport and some guy is checking me and my kennel out.  My Mom talked to him for a couple of minutes and then let me out.  I gave her a big hug cuz Mom didn't look to happy!  She told me she loved me, to be careful and that she'll miss me.  After a loooong hug, I got back in my kennel and they secured my door.  I think things went a little too fast for Mom :(  Before I knew it she was leaving, and a large man picked my kennel up and put me on a cart.  Two plane rides later and a long day, I arrived in Florida to meet up with my trainers.  So here I am in Florida for now, living out the next chapter in my life.  I hope it's a short chapter so I can go home soon ;)

So here is my question of the day!!!!!  Drum roll please!  If you are a new, inexperienced owner of an AKC registered dog, do you know of all the events that are held that you could participate in?

Okay, so I'm home from the Florida dog shows and the Eukanuba Championship.   Not much different than a regular dog show, but not as tight or restricted as Westminster. What a whirlwind week that was!!  Being only 18 months old we didn't expect too much to happen in Florida.  I mean come on...how am I going to compete with dogs that have fully matured?  If anything, this was a chance for me to see my Momma's and meet my Grand Parents who live in Florida (secret plan).  We had a very nice two bedroom suite with a living room which gave Meg and I plenty or room to chase each other!  We had our battles and then I needed to sleep!  Being at a dog show can wear you out!  I felt cooped up until Saturday.  I showed and then made my exit.  My handler, Lori Mowery won breed with a Welsh Springer Sp. and went BOS with my girl Scarlette!  Watch for her on TV! Since I was done showing, Dad figured it was time for me to have fun!  We had our picture taken in front of the  Eukanuba dog at the convention center and then entered in the Dock Dog event.  I wasn't to keen on jumping, but did swim in the pool and just be a dog :)  All in all, for my last show stuff for a while I had a blast!  Just wish I could have gone to doggie beach in Ft. Myers!

Josh here!  So today I finished a wknd of showing in New England.  Had a blast, but didn't win crap in group!  One of the problems for the dog exhibitor in this region is something known as the dog show mafia!  Well. that's what my Mom calls it.  We are fairly close to NYC, so we probably have the greatest concentration of top dogs, and handlers in the country.  That can make a group placement very difficult!  I showed good today and the judge even smacked my butt and said good boy.  Did I place or make the cut????  NOOOOO!  I can't wait to come back in a year or two to throw it back at them :)

So did you her the story of the 20 month old pup being invited to the AKC/Eukanuba National dog show???  Me either!  Just kidding! As I type this on my dogpad, I'm at my handlers house in Connecticut.  Mom and Dad abandoned me after the dog show today, and I was wondering what was going on?  It seems I'm travel'n south of the Mason-Dixon line, for a week of shows in Orlando.

So stay tuned for tales of a dog on the road,  his winter vacation, and battles with the evil rock shrimp!

The Future

So as I'm writing this, it appears my future is being talked about.  I just found "MY" future today as a Jib Jab video producer, but apparently Mom and Dad weren't impressed!  From the sounds of it, I'm going on a trip in December, get to come home for a few weeks, and then basic training!  I thought I was going into the Army, but maybe I over reacted!  I'm going to get to spend some time in the south learning how to run better and work birds.  I'm all for that!  What dog wouldn't want to go look for birds?  Stay tuned for updates and new videos from Executive Producer "JJ"  Here's a sample of my work so far.  Signing of "JJ"
